The
sixth Long Island Student Shakespeare Festival took place on May 12, 2017.
160 students performed excerpts from Macbeth,
The Merry Wives of Windsor, Romeo and Juliet, Richard III, A Midsummer
Night's Dream, and a collection of monologues. The musical highlight
was a performance of Duke Ellington's "The Star-Crossed Lovers" by
the Deer Park High School Jazz Band.
The guest artist was Metropolitan
Opera star John Horton Murray.
