2014 Shakespeare Festival

The third Long Island Student Shakespeare Festival took place on May 19, 2014. It featured students from North Babylon High School, Walter G. O'Connell Copiague High School, Robert Frost Middle School, Deer Park High School, and SS Cyril and Methodius School. Students performed scenes from King Lear, Hamlet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Taming of the Shrew, Macbeth, Julius Caesar, and Antony and Cleopatra. They also participated in Shakespeare-related activities.

Ian Gould, a member of The Acting Company, was the guest artist. He performed excerpts from The Tempest accompanied by the Deer Park High School Baroque Ensemble, who played selections from Matthew Locke's incidental music for the play. A small ensemble played music by Shakespeare's contemporary Thomas Morley. Students from Five Towns College performed songs from Cole Porter's Kiss Me, Kate.
